We had the shrimp cocktail and the habanero cream enchiladas. The food came out pretty quick.  The enchiladas came with rice and charro beans. It was a big portion. The shrimp in the cocktail was a hearty size. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us great recommendations for it being our first time there.

This was our first time trying Nogal, and all I can say is that I’m sad that we waited so long to try it! Outside of taco places, finding a good quality Mexican food restaurant in Lake Charles is a tough feat. However, Nogal really impressed us! We shared the mixed fajitas. The meat was well-seasoned and tender, and the portions of everything were plenty for two people to share. They give you three different complimentary sauces with the chips. They are all excellent in their own way. We will definitely be back and recommending them to anyone wanting good Mexican food in town. The service and atmosphere were also 10/10!

This place offers delicious Mexican food. I had grilled fish street tacos and the best chicken wings. They have great ambience and affordable prices. I visited this place when I visited Golden Nuggets Casino. I think I made the right choice by skipping food inside the casino and going here.

Wow! I can't say enough to express how nice this place is! It's so clean and so pleasing to the eye! I love the furniture and the decor! It's so pleasing to the eye. And the atmosphere is so peaceful and elegant.  A very upscale look with a very laid back feeling.  The waitstaff is top notch professional.  "Service with a heart!"
And the food! Oh my what a treat! All the food is very pleasing to the eye and so wonderful to the tongue! I can tell they have cooks who love their job! I also love how they are so very willing to accommodate my special dietary needs!

Vegetarian options: The grilled chicken salad is amazing!!!!!!

We celebrated a birthday here on 11/16/24 late in the evening . The food was amazing 10/10 would recommend! The whole establishment is clean . The service is top notch! They all came out to sing happy birthday to multiple tables. All the staff were cheerful and polite.  We had a small issue with our food, it was fixed immediately and they were apologetic.  It's our new favorite Mexican restaurant 😋.

We went to Nogal on Cinco de Mayo and really enjoyed the atmosphere, food and service! Most excellent! They were serving off a custom menu for the celebration, so the choices were a little limited, bur as I understand it, their routine menu includes many exceptional options! They were able to accommodate our vegetarian customizing a menu choice for us, so thank you for that - we really appreciate it! Definitely recommend checking this place out as a Mexican food option when you are in Lake Charles!!

100% recommend !  In town from central Texas and wanted authentic Mexican food and something cheaper than the same overpriced hotel restaurant. Found this place and so glad we did!  Adriana was our waitress. She was wonderful! She answered all our questions about the menu and food.

We ordered and before we could even finish our (free) chips , our food was out.

Everything was delicious and fresh!

Adriana returned MULTIPLE times making sure we liked everything and if we were ok. She is so great!! (Never let our cups get empty!)

Being a Texas native, I would normally never eat Mexican food in a non-border state. However, finding myself in Lake Charles on Cinco de Mayo my wife and I stopped by for our customary margarita. Their salsa was among the best I’ve ever had, the margaritas were great, and we found the food to be quite good even by Houston standards. Our server Courtney did an excellent job making sure we were never without a margarita in hand, even though the place was packed!  Give Nogal a try if you haven’t already.

This place was absolutely TOP NOTCH! Service rivals that of Outback Steakhouse. He maintained a kind, glowing patience that elevated our meal from great to stellar. (ESL) The food outshines every restaurant that comes to mind. The prices are reasonable in an unreasonable economy. The fiesta bowl with steak is a MUST HAVE. We will return if the Lord says the same! Simply AMAZING 😍
